I blame it on singing!

I was pretty much exclusively listening to and singing music in English - even before I spoke the language!

I was basically just imitating the sounds that I heard, not necessarily reading (and understanding) the words.

Because of that I never had a thick accent when speaking English - though it definitely wasn’t perfect!

Thanks to my classmates who always pointed out any mistakes that I made I was able to reduce my accent pretty quickly.

And now most people have no idea that I didn’t grow up in America, didn’t go to an international school or that I didn’t speak English until I was like 13 years old (and even then it was just a couple of words I learned in school hahah!).

My husband says my accent is only noticeable right after I get off the phone with my parents (with whom I always speak swiss german 😋).

But even though I was able to reduce my accent and make it pretty much unnoticeable, I have no idea how to teach others to do the same…

But that’s why I had my good friend and accent coach @willvanmoss on our podcast where he shared some amazing tips to learn a new accent or reduce your current accent! Go check it out on From Singer To Artist here: youtu.be/3cwZ2yRl_to
