It’s the reason why so many singers never see success…
They spend years honing their skills - which is very important, don’t get me wrong!
But most only ever focus on the things they can’t do really well just yet…
Completely neglecting their natural strengths.
And if you want singing to be your job, you need to know what your strengths are and how to showcase those strengths as much as possible!
And I know… we seem to always want the opposite of what we have…
If you have curly hair your want straight hair…
If you have a low voice you want a high voice…
The truth is that there are certain roles and/or songs out there that are just not meant for you.
And that can sometimes feel really shitty because you really love that song/role and really want to do it!
And you can - maybe just not in a professional setting.
But on the other hand there are TONS of roles/songs that are right for you.
So instead of forcing your voice into the roles/songs that don’t come naturally to you, that you can maybe do, but not comfortably, work on finding the songs/roles that DO!
There’s a vast ocean out there - just find your corner and you will thrive 👏
Thank you @spencerjlynn for coming on our podcast and talking about the importance of knowing your strengths and collaboration!
