A little hack I found. This is a voice star mobile phone recorder made by Radio Shack and it's no longer made. And here I'm putting some music from the video game Grand Theft Auto Vice City on it. This is the process that I use. I did have to use another program because V-Rock would play too slow. Basically you need to make an unsigned 8 bit PCM mono wav file at 64kbps & 8,000z (8khz) And you need to name it RECXX Where XX is a number, each file has it's own number from 00 to 99 (not sure of max number of files). The format MUST be as above or this recorder will delete whatever files off the card that it can't read and setting the write protect lock on the card does nothing. It would be cool if this recorder had a HQ mode but everything is hardwired. I'm not even sure if this thing has firmware.
You can do this trick to any device that records and plays back audio. Basically you need to create a file that the device can read. First you record a test file from the device itself and then check the attributes of the file that it created (sample rate, bit rate, audio format). Then just match that with your custom file and it should play. This will not work with devices like some digital voice recorders that only let you download from recorder to PC such as the radioshack VN-480PC and some Olympus models. The audio files are proprietary inside the recorder and are converted to .WAV format upon downloading by the digital wave player software.
I've also done this with the V-Tech Star wars watch It can record voice clips so just encode your file with the above attributes but select 22,050hz instead of 8,00hz. Rename the file VXXXX.wav (Where the X's are a number e.g. V0001.wav V0002.wav for another song.
