Did you know that in the mid-1900's, ENT doctors used to hand make any ear tubes that were inserted into ears for chronic ear infections and ear fluid?
The technique demonstrated here was how such ear tubes were hand-made before becoming commercially available.
The modern tube shown has diameter of 1.14mm. The hand-made tube shown here has a diameter of 2mm.
If one uses a tubing that has too small of a diameter, it gets increasingly difficult to create a proper flange with patent opening (though not impossible).
