This animation goes over the various different types of vocal cord paralysis that may be encountered and how it looks (and sounds) when examined. Most often, vocal cord paralysis causes a weak sounding hoarse voice. In other cases, it may result in a change in breathing. Causes of vocal cord paralysis and treatment are not discussed.
