Briefly discussed on my IG, I was thinking about many of the books I've been reading about puzzles and traps in Dungeons and Dragson, as well as other tabletop RPG's.
So many are designed to kill players, rather than to hinder their progress, or give them something to solve.
When I think about a smart puzzle or trap in DND, I really want to just as much of an event as a "boss battle" - something where the players have had to use their brains, as well as their brawn!
What do you think? Should puzzles and traps be more for thinking, or does the risk of dying "make it worth doing"?
Would love some interactive discussion about this - please comment below!
