Bryant was an all-time scorer in his own right and perhaps the most skilled player to ever lace them up, and recently T-Mac described what it was like matching up one-on-one with him during his prime.
“So we were competitive all the time, and when I started coming into my own as a basketball player, he noticed that. Then he got the barbershop talk ‘Who's better, T-Mac and Kobe?’ We are the best two wings at that time, so Kobe listened to all that stuff, so he wanted to go out and prove a point.
Every time we faced each other, it was a battle. When I come down, I hit him with something, make him fall, make the jumper, he'll come down and dunk on the whole team.
It just brought the best out of you as a basketball player that you didn't know you had inside of you because Kobe was built differently, and he was gonna come at you every single play, he was relentless. If you didn't match that, you were gonna have a long night, but I loved it and relished those opportunities,” he said.
