Before Jackass became an MTV phenomenon, it started with the chaotic homemade energy of CKY: a group of friends filming skate footage, reckless stunts, pranks, and anything that could top the last idea. From shopping cart crashes and roof jumps to fast-cut editing and a competitive need to go bigger, CKY helped create the blueprint for a new kind of stunt comedy. When Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville, and Spike Jonze saw the potential, those raw tapes became part of the pilot that launched Jackass.
