With summer in full swing, there’s no better moment to explore our cities in new and meaningful ways.
Walking not only connects us to the places we live, but it also supports our mental and physical wellbeing, reduces air pollution and has benefits for people, places and the planet.
That’s why Buro Happold partnered with Footways to launch the ‘Great British Engineering Adventure Map’, an 18-mile Rail and Heritage Loop spotlighting some of London’s most iconic engineering achievements.
At a recent Buro Happold event, joined by the Lord Mayor of Westminster, guests experienced a stretch of the route from Marylebone Station to Hyde Park. The walk celebrated the capital’s rich engineering legacy whilst highlighting the positive changes Westminster Council is making to create more welcoming streets for everyone.
A spokesperson for Cllr Paul Dimoldenberg, said: “Both the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress greatly enjoyed joining the Rail and Heritage Loop walk and learnt a lot about the history of engineering innovation in Westminster”.
