Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen left me with such a fascination for Blue. At first, he is very much just a borderline substanceless reflection of the player- someone rude and hotheaded to serve as an ever present antagonist on your journey. But something happened along the way, and then further along his appearances in other games, as he become something entirely of his own. And now we have this fascinating and multifaceted HERO who is beloved by fans because the series was willing to take him out of Red's shadow and continually develop him into something great. I came to this specific conclusion about how many Pokemon he's used focusing on this line of thought, and it's really just the coolest thing. Even cooler than mudkip! This one's for all the Metagross, Heracross, and Pidgeotto fans out there.
