Scientists at Carleton University have created a new tool that reveals how oil spills impact wildlife in Canada’s Arctic. ❄️🐧

Developed by former Carleton Science master’s student, Yasmeen Zahaby, the ToxChip uses genetic code to measure the health impacts of seabirds at a DNA level.🧬🔬

“Some genes are important for immune function, some are important for balancing calcium in the body or balancing hormones,” explains Zahaby.
