Hovercraft Christy 9205 FC NZ
We are pleased to inform about the launch of a new craft of the project CHRISTY-9205, made by the special order for a commercial travel company in New Zealand.
Lake Pukaki will be home to the only company in New Zealand planning to use a hovercraft to provide the eco-tourism services. Thus, it is planned to attract more tourists to this area.
Unique trips along the Tasman River and Lake Pukaki will be available, where a hovercraft will be used for both tourist activities and as a vehicle for the cyclists. For this purpose, the hovercraft will be equipped with special bicycle holders.
The hovercraft will open a largely inaccessible part of the area for the tourists and also will provide the transportation through the Tasman River for the cyclists traveling along the Alps 2 Ocean bike route from its official starting point Aoraki (Mount Cook).
The Alps 2 Ocean cycling route is a 310 km long bike trail that runs from the beautiful slope of the highest mountain in New Zealand, Aoraki (Mount Cook) and descends the foothills of the Southern Alps, which leads cyclists past magnificent lakes and rivers enwinding through the Canterbury Plain, until it reaches the Pacific Ocean from Oamaru.
Nowhere else in the world, you will be able to ride on the hovercraft with a view of Aoraki (Mount Cook). It is something new and exciting, something that no New Zealand visitor has ever done.
The new hovercraft CHRISTY-9205 accommodates up to 11 tourists, plus a pilot, has the following characteristics:

Payload: 900-950 kg (1984-2094 lb)
Thrust engine: 176 hp
Lift engine: 28 hp
Fuel consumption: 15-20 lt/hr (4 - 5.3 gl/hr)
