In the Westerlands, Lord Jason Lannister gathers his forces at the Golden Tooth, awaiting Aemond and his dragon, Vhagar, to challenge Daemon's dragon, Caraxes. In King's Landing, Aemond, dismissing Jason's plea for protection, plans to break the Velaryon blockade with Triarchy leaders and sends Criston to Harrenhal, removing Alicent from the Small Council and summoning Otto Hightower. Aegon, recovering from injuries, receives advice from Larys to use his physical handicap to his advantage. Mysaria's agents spread rumors of royal excess, inciting unrest among the starving populace. In Dragonstone, Rhaenyra's attempt to claim Seasmoke ends tragically, sparking her determination. In the Vale, Rhaena encounters signs of a wild dragon. At Harrenhal, Daemon suspects betrayal and learns of Lord Grover Tully's death, while on Driftmark, Seasmoke bonds with Addam. Rhaenyra and Mysaria share a poignant moment, interrupted by news of Seasmoke's new rider.
