What if Rick and Morty was horror-themed? Well, you’d probably have something like Haunted Hotel - one of my new favorite shows, streaming now on Netflix.
In this show, a single mother inherits a haunted hotel from her dead brother, who happens to be one of the ghosts in the hotel! She, her two kids, and her “adopted” child Abaddon (a demon trapped in a 1700s child’s body) have to figure out how to run this hotel and make it a success, even with all the ghostly guests.
There are so many horror movie references here - it’s clear that creator Matt Roller is a huge fan - and it’s such a fun watch. The comedy is sharp and fast, and Abaddon has quickly become one of my favorite characters.
If you want something new and light to watch and love a good animated show for adults, please give this one a watch. It’s fantastic, especially if you love the horror genre!
