Tennessee officials shut down a swing ride at the state's largest fair after it malfunctioned Wednesday night, injuring nine people and sending four to the hospital.

The incident involved the Wave Swinger ride at the Wilson County-Tennessee State Fair.

Reithoffer Shows, which owns the ride, told NBC affiliate WSMV4 that the ride stopped and that a few guests "came into contact with the surrounding fence" as it was coming down.
