“No hope in the air, no hope in the water.
Not even for me, your last serving daughter.”
To me, this video is the continuation of a series of Women of Game of Thrones videos that I’ve made over the years inspired by the wonderful music of my all-time favourite musician, Laura Marling. Part 1 in this series is Devil’s Spoke (youtube.com/watch?v=ufBc9-MJcjU), part two is Master Hunter (youtube.com/watch?v=IEVtw6k5mWw), this video is part three: Hope in the Air. I love her music so much, and for some reason it really, really inspires me when it comes to the Women of Thrones (just as Son Lux does when it comes to Skam, hah).
It’s only natural, to me, that part three in this series I’ve worked on over the years centres Sansa, as she has been my favourite character in the series from the very beginning. In this video I wanted to focus on Sansa’s storyline over the last few seasons of the show. In particular, I wanted to examine her sense of duty to her family as Eddard Stark’s “last serving daughter”.
This video undoubtedly has to go out to my girls on Twitter – Yasmin (hurleybird), Hannah (Hanneybean7), Cait (ccmrose), and all of my other Game of Thrones/fandom mutuals – who have spent so many hours and thousands of messages and tweets yelling about ASOIAF with me. Your brilliant minds and your passion and creativity inspires me so, so much. Also, an early Happy Birthday (!!!!!!) to my bb Cait – here’s another Sansa video for you to celebrate our daughter.
Thank you so much to Yasmin for sending me those episodes – if you hadn’t done this, I wouldn’t have decided at once that I had to start several Game of Thrones vids.
And thank you also to Anja (sparksfly221) and Sara (Shainira), who both helped me work through some issues I was having with rendering. 7 renders later and I finally got here, with your help!

I was both exicted and anxious when I heard about the BBC and HBO adapting the His Dark Materials trilogy into a television series. And, oh my! How they have delivered. The first series has been fantastic, and I couldnt wait to start editing my long-planned vids. This one was more of a spontaneous idea that occurred to me last week, and Ive really enjoyed examining the series in more depth as Ive been working on the vid.
This vid is for Faayza, who loves these two dearly and who I love dearly in turn.
