“I remember everything.”
I watched this film at the end of October and I was absolutely mesmerised. This film well and truly Fucked Me Up. I read the novel within a few days of watching the film, then went back to the cinema and watched it again the following day. I’ve now lost count of how many times I’ve seen it. As soon as I watched this film I had several vid ideas, and while I was so tempted to begin working on them when the screener leaked a few weeks ago, I decided that I ultimately wanted to wait until I could access a 1080p rip instead and I’m so glad I waited. I’ve been planning this vid since November, and it felt so good to finally work on it after waiting for the best part of three months.
In the absence of lyrics (this song only features four words, after all), I decided to really focus on letting the footage speak for itself. Please enjoy my heavy handed use of symbolism, jump cuts, parallels, dramatic cuts to black, etc.
I can’t make a Call Me By Your Name fanvid without mentioning four people. For one, Bella (xLiesForALiar) is the reason that this film was on my radar to begin with. I know the novel is really important to her, and she sent me the trailer for the film last summer. Additionally, Faayza (cynicalromantic) and Madihah have hugely added to my love for this film, and I am very happy that our CMBYN group chat is still very active four months later. And also a shoutout to Jo, who I absolutely loved raving about this film with on Twitter when we were both at the peak of our obsession last November.

I was both exicted and anxious when I heard about the BBC and HBO adapting the His Dark Materials trilogy into a television series. And, oh my! How they have delivered. The first series has been fantastic, and I couldnt wait to start editing my long-planned vids. This one was more of a spontaneous idea that occurred to me last week, and Ive really enjoyed examining the series in more depth as Ive been working on the vid.
This vid is for Faayza, who loves these two dearly and who I love dearly in turn.
