During our 2022 Taste of History fundraiser, we honored the Norton Agency. The Norton Agency has roots going back to the days following the Great War. W.L. Norton, Sr. started an insurance office in Gainesville in 1928, quickly growing to the surrounding eight counties. By 1937 he had begun to develop the first planned residential neighborhood in Hall County, Longstreet Hills. This growth led to W.L.’s son Frank (Sr.) and Frank Sr.’s wife Betty joining the firm and growing the real estate side of the business. In the 1980s Frank Sr.’s sons Frank Jr. and Robert joined the Agency and soon took over leadership of what is now one of the leading real estate and insurance agencies in the nation.
