On July 8th at 2:40am, deputies responded to the 12500 block of Woodland Ave. E in Puyallup for reports of a male who had been located deceased in a home. The preliminary investigation indicates there was homicidal violence in a bedroom that eventually led outside the home. The 35-year-old male was located inside the home with multiple deadly injuries. We have no suspect in custody at this time. Detectives and forensic investigators are on scene and it remains an active investigation.

$A Ticket Would Have Been Easier On June 23rd around 1:45 am, a graveyard sergeant spotted a Dodge Charger that was driving at a high rate of speed on 176th St. E. A traffic stop was attempted, and the vehicle fled at triple digits. The deputy terminated the pursuit and did not follow. A few minutes later, the vehicle came back to the area traveling at a high rate of speed again. This time the deputy followed at a safe distance and conducted a traffic stop when it pulled into a driveway. The male driver quickly bailed from the car, and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect jumped over several fences, and the sergeant decided K9 would be best for the job. K9 Clark and his handler were called to the scene. Clark quickly found the track and got to work. After several minutes of tracking through thick brush and sticker bushes, the suspect was located hiding in the woods. The 23-year-old male was arrested for eluding and resisting arrest. This would have been a traffic infraction for speeding; the suspect is now facing a felony charge for eluding, all because he thought he could get away. A ticket would have been much easier.$
