I was homeschooled growing up, and the experience completely transformed my life. I am absolutely convinced that I would not be who I am today (a free-thinking creative writer and artist), and I probably would have chosen a much more conventional path in life. I believe that each and every one of us learns in a unique and beautiful way; that we each have our own particular and divine unfoldings - and today I wanted so share a bit about mine. In this video, I am sharing about how homeschooling served and nourished me personally as I grew up. These are my own thoughts and my own story. I don't call myself an author because I don’t believe in labels.
I believe that story is art - that it's sacred, and that it is and has always been a force that changes and shapes our world. That's why I write, and that's why I create videos (even co-produced an environmental film). I consider the world my home, and enjoy submerging in unique cultures nearly as much as I love submerging in the ocean and riding the waves. I am the author of the young adult urban fantasy series The Blood Race, and am currently working on several new series's.
