Every year I love to do themed shoots for the holidays, and this year is no different!
In this video I’m shooting a DIY styled beauty image with my favorite color … can you guess what it is! 😝
If you follow my work you know I love creating monochromatic images with red being one of the colors you might see most often in my work.
The concept for this shoot is making the model look like a gift with super simple DIY styling from things that I found around the studio and of course that red theme!
A big part of this shoot is the Savage Seamless Primary Red background. This is my go-to red background.
Tip: Don’t overnight the background! This can often result in the red looking a bit more orange.
The light is super simple, with only a single light and white beauty dish with grid. The most important part here being the grid so that you can control the spill of light on the background.
So we have the styling, the lighting, the red background, now it’s all about getting the right angle and expression with a beauty lens — my go to is the Canon RF 70-200mm 2.8.
