Spoilers for Age of Ultron!
I made this at 2am. It sucks. But I’m posting it anyway cause I probably won’t have anything else for awhile. Also I can’t believe my first post-AoU vid is not a Clint vid…
Well, back to shipping couples with 30secs worth of shared screen time… Just like old times. I know these two are (were) a couple in the comics but I had absolutely no intention of shipping them. Then I saw the movie. The way she was looking at him when he was talking to Thor and then that look when he rescued her! Also, an android has absolutely no right to be that attractive (Don’t judge me; you’re thinking the same thing!) and the android and the little witch shouldn’t have had the best chemistry in the entire movie.
Don’t get me wrong, I quite like Clint and Laura but dear GOD did I not get Bruce/Natasha. I need to be clear: I don’t not like them because I ship Clintasha. I am a multi-shipper- other ships do not bother me and I really haven’t been that invested in them for over a year (Bobbi/Clint has kinda taking over, sorry) but that said… Other than the scene at the bar which was really cute and made me kinda like them, everything else was PAINFUL. Natasha was acting like was a love struck teenager and Bruce showed no interested in her despite Natasha practically throwing herself at him. Then they wanted to run away and abandon the team. UHHHH…
I honestly prefer no romance in action movies because it is almost always detrimental to the film. So few of my ships have ever gone cannon I really don’t get invested in them actually having to be confirmed cannon to enjoy them anyway. AUs always!
As for the actual film: I almost loved it. The story was fun and the characters were great but it suffered from too much going on, a ridiculous romantic sub-plot and the lack of any real sense of threat to the main characters because we all know they’re gonna be back in later films. I actually guessed Pietro’s death months before the film came out and wasn’t to surprised he died. Everyone talked about how Wanda would impact the MCU but not a mention of Pietro, so, probably a red-shirt. Sad, but not surprised.
Clint! Clint was fabulous and I’m more then fine with them taking the ultimates route since what little character he had before was pretty much all ultimates anyway. Also he married Velma :D The fact that he had an important role, great lines and somewhat of a back story makes me so incredibly happy. He’s human, he gets hurt, he makes mistakes and that’s what makes him my favorite, he might not be able to go toe-to-toe with a god but he’ll sure as hell try.
The Vision was also fabulous. I could easily see him becoming my favorite (watch out Clint!) well, maybe. When he looked over a Thor then made his own cape, that scene made me absolutely love him. I have a horrible feeling though that Thanos is gonna rip that infinity stone out of his forehead… Actually, as much as I would HATE it, that’d make for a great dramatic scene.
The Twins were fantastic, and I adored this Quicksilver. Too bad he died and is probably the one to suffer the only permanent death for Marvel. Most likely to avoid the confrontation with Fox even though this Pietro was far more grounded and not a God-Mode sue like the other one. Wanda was also wonderful; I loved her eeriness and creepiness in the beginning and that horror-style editing they used on her at first with little jump-cuts. Ah, it was awesome!
Ultron was a fun villain, I wish he had snarked a little less and they had made him more menacing. But, everyone has to snark, because Whedon.
Thor was fun, his little side-mission should have absolutely been cut as it dragged down the film. I don’t care if it sets up his next film, we’re all gonna see it anyway.
Natasha’s back story was very interesting and I wanted to see more of that! Not… the other stuff.
Cap was great. Tony was great. Bruce was okay (I’m sorry, I just don’t find the Hulk interesting)
The NEW AVENGERS! YES!! SAM IS AN AVENGER!!! And Rhodey, Wanda and Vision too. This new team is awesome. (Kinda sad my archer isn’t there but I know he’ll be back!)
