Hold the Puberty Blockers Experiments — our children deserve evidence-based care.
Recent discussions around puberty blockers and youth gender services have rightly sparked public concern. A key moment was the Cass Review, an NHS-commissioned report that called for a halt to certain non-evidence-based treatments for children questioning their gender identity.
Why the concern?
🔍 Weak evidence: Much of the treatment offered lacks strong scientific backing.
📉 Little long-term data: There’s minimal follow-up on how hormone therapies or surgeries affect these individuals into adulthood.
😔 High rates of regret & mental health struggles: International evidence shows many who undergo these treatments later experience regret, mental health issues, and elevated suicide risk.
Those protesting often include families who have witnessed the lasting harm firsthand. They’re not standing against support — they’re standing for care that is safe, proven, and truly in the best interest of the child.
It’s time to listen. It’s time to pause. It’s time to put evidence before ideology.
