Here's a short video detailing the installation of a solar battery inverter system for our house. Although the system is not cheap, and there are no governemnt subsidies for installing the batteries and the inverter, the system gives us blackout protection and it provides all the power we need to run our house and my garage workshop. Blackout protection is vital when you live on acreage with no town water. Once the power goes out you get no water, no lighting, no refrigeration and no way to charge devices which are now important during natural disasters.
