High up, in the upper reaches of Mt. Rae, the highest peak in the Kananaskis, and high above the Highwood Pass, is nestled an alpine meadow called Ptarmigan Cirque. Here, Hoary Marmots, Pikas, and Ground Squirrels make their home, sipping on cool clear water trickling down from snow near the peak, in a meadow strewn with colourful alpine wildflowers. A tender and beautifully precious place held close to the sky basking under a radiant sun.
