In this video, I'll show you how to use a "6 Degrees of Freedom" sensor (MPU6050) as the basis for a physical challenge, that could be used for example in an escape room. Players must strike an object and the force with which they do so is measured by the accelerometer of the 6DOF sensor, and processed by an Arduino.
Depending on the strength of the punch, a corresponding number of LED lights are lit on a neopixel strip. If the force is high enough to light all the lights, a relay is activated which releases a maglock (in an escape room setting, this could open a door or turn on any other load that can be powered by the relay).
