There is a really good reason why gamers in general aren’t the best businessmen. Being a businessman requires some genuine market awareness.

Except those dudes were there. Were. They aren't anymore because they got laid off. What a lot of these people don't know is that most game devs are still men and are still gamers as well. It's just that they are constrained by what corporations demand of them. Those dudes are the ones that got laid off by corporations that care more about growth than stability. These corporations care more about being bigger without actually knowing how and why.
Game companies still operate within similar demographics of mostly male developers and executives. To blame DEI and consultation firms on the layoffs show a staggering lack of business and market perception of the very same industry that you claim to be a consumer of. If anything, you're not a gamer. You are a political activist using games to push your agenda.
I too am critical of progressive ideologies, but corporations being greedy abusive scumbags ruining gaming as a whole is not an ideological issue. If you hear anyone says otherwise, they have a political bias. And yes, I have a bias too, but my bias is entirely out of my own personal take, not based on what algorithmically works in the culture war outrage machine.
I can tell you one piece of truth that is undeniable, irrefutable, and can be demonstrably proven. Corporations are not really progressive. They fake being progressive because it looks good on them. It looks good for investors. DEI, ESG, consultation firms, those are ways to make those corporations look morally good without actually being good. They do that to entice these investors to invest on them without doing much effort and spend too much money. It’s all just to do less and save money at the end of the day.
This is a problem, for sure, but it is not driven by the desire to become progressive. It is driven by the desire to take investors' money. I'll even go so far as to say that if these corporations think that being a Nazi or a far-right extremist is good to gain investors' money, they will actually do it. It's almost like ideology is not the problem. It's just good old greed, and if you point the blame on ideology, that's exactly what these corporations want so that they can't be held accountable for it.
