On the Northwestern corner of the Superstitions, there are number of relatively easy hiking trails, with the rocky edge of the Superstition mountains as a backdrop. Easy hiking, with wonderfully rugged desert views, the "Praying Hands" rock feature is one of the cool rock formations to see on the along Treasure Loop Trail.
"Curator of Shenanigans" Troy Dixon, along with his very experienced climbing buddy, Matt Johnson, guided me to one of the most exhilarating hiking/climbing experiences I've had to date.
With strong, freezing cold winds and zero experience, the Razor's Edge Route up to the top of The Hand was a incredibly exposed entry level rock climb, which might as well have been El Capitan for me.
Once again, I'm happy to be alive!
