GoNorth Japan | Hiking with a Novice I Taking a German Friend up Mt. Iwate @GoNorthJapan | Uploaded September 2020 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Mt. Iwate is the 3rd highest mountain in the Tohoku region and perhaps my favorite. Of course the close proximity to Morioka makes it the mountain that I climb most. My friend Micha from Germany asked to come with me, so we went up a couple months ago (and I finally made the video). We took the Nanataki Trail up, and the Yakehashiri Trail down, made possible by 2 vehicles. It was not the best choice for a first-time hiker, but he made it!
