We did this hike in May of 2013, starting from the Grotto trailhead. We made it to Scout's Lookout, and I lost my nerves waiting to ascend Hogsback. I would attempt it again if there are a minimal amount of people. After failing to get to Angel's Landing, we explored a little bit of the West Rim trail where we stopped at a beautiful overlook of Angel's Landing. After admiring the view, we headed back to the canyon floor.

This trail is just under 1,500 elevation gain to Scout's Lookout, and 2 miles long (and about another .5 miles to the landing). It's a wide, smooth, and well-maintained trail with two sections of switchbacks. This is probably the most famous trail in Zion, with one of its most iconic views from the landing itself.
