Hiking a bursting Yosemite National Park waterfall during peak snow melt in June of 2023, California, after the record setting snow year in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Recorded snow levels exceeded 221% of the normal winter snow volume. Chilnualna Falls in Yosemite is know for its impressive beauty and scenic surroundings. Chilnualna Falls is one of the parks longest waterfalls, cascading down a total of 690 feet (210 meters) in a series of steps and cascades. It is located in the southern region of the park, near the Wawona area. This hike is known to be challenging and strenuous, requiring good physical fitness and proper preparation. Be mindful of rushing / raging water if attempting this hike as it is easy to slip in to the fast moving water.
