A warning stone to Highwaymen in Wiltshire known as the Turpin Stone sited off a lane that runs from Keevil to Bulkington just past Pans Bridge . This is a rare stone which in the past has been vandalised and restored on several occasions and hit by a hedge trimmer . There is no evidence that Dick Turpin operated in the area his notorious reputation was used to place fear into any Wiltshire Highwaymen that were prolific in the area .
