A Wiltshire rarely visited Hillfort a true walk of discovery and interest within Salisbury Plain in an area of restricted access ! Join me on a walk through history with the many interesting things I notice on my way to this Iron Age Hillfort that was investigated in the 18th Century by Richard Colt Hoare and William Cunnington. I then view a Long Barrow that has been subjected to past and recent investigation. All of this within an area that dates from Neolithic to today where the Army train for conflict. A walk of enjoyment and discovery that even on a wet and rainy day was enjoyable !
