I was at Big Data LDN 2025 today in my role as Futurist in Residence at @Nokia. It’s one of Europe’s leading data and AI events, and three themes really stood out this year:
✦ Generative AI & AI Agents
The conversation has moved beyond experimentation. Organisations are now exploring autonomous agents and GenAI systems that embed intelligence directly into workflows and applications.
✦ Data Strategy, Governance & Leadership
AI success depends on clear strategy, strong governance, ethical oversight and C-level ownership. Companies are working hard to turn data and AI into real business value with the right guardrails.
✦ Modern Data Architecture & Engineering
Real-time platforms, DataOps, observability and data-as-a-product are transforming how enterprises design and scale data systems for AI.
Sean Kennedy, Head of @Nokia Bell Labs AI Research, also presented a fascinating session on AI myths that hold companies back and how to move past them. I’ll be sharing more on these myths, along with other exciting things Nokia is doing in AI, over the coming weeks.
