A mysterious pyramid in Italy? 🏛️
The Etruscan Pyramid of Bomarzo isn’t a pyramid in the traditional sense. Rather, it is a stepped platform carved out of volcanic stone deep in the forests of central Italy 🇮🇹 🌳
Before the Romans, there were the Etruscans — an amazing ancient civilisation who actually gave the Romans the toga and the gladiatorial games. They were a deeply religious people, and it’s thought that this pyramid would have been used for spiritual ceremonies, maybe for agriculture or fertility.
