Update: He did actually refunded me the entire cost. Obviously not without a fight...a really strange fight as you noticed. The strange defense of the packing and choice of box, pulling in his "girlfriend", the tone changes, the name calling, the victimhood, the pleading to close the case.
In the end he still got what he wanted: the refund means the case is closed and is no longer on his record. Hopefully eBay won't delete my negative feedback.
I haven't used eBay in a while but I'm glad they allowed us to upload photos with the feedback now. I didn't have to say much and let the screenshot of messages and photos of the package to do most of the speaking.
