On 27 December 2025, we find ourselves at Peekskill observing Metro North and Amtrak operating through the half a foot of snow that fell the previous night. Two of the three Amtrak Empire Service trains passing through have P42DC locomotives complementing the P32ACDM, with the third having an unpowered P42C cabbage. Of note are three Metro North heritage P32s with 201 "Conrail" seen southbound, 217 "Penn Central" as the first train northbound and last southbound, and 203 "MTA Central" leading the diesel Holiday Lights Train consist northbound. A southbound CSX intermodal also makes a cameo on the other side of the Hudson River. All Metro North services seen are bound for Grand Central or Poughkeepsie. All Amtrak services seen are bound for Albany or Penn Station running as trains 280, 233 and 240.
