For the 2024 holiday season, Metro North decorated an eight car set of M8 EMUs with Christmas lights. The train operated across all three Metro North lines out of Grand Central with most runs taking place after dark. This operation also brought the M8 to parts of the Metro North system it normally does not see, such as Southeast and Croton-Harmon.
Over the course of the season, we catch the train both onboard and trackside across the Metro North system in daylight, dusk and darkness.
