In this video I replace a fuel injector on my 2005 GMC Envoy with the 4.2L Vortec inline six cylinder engine. I've been dealing with a rough running/feeling engine for a while now and am determined to get to the bottom of it. I've already replaced various sensors and other components with no change but when I was recently performing a compression test I noticed something with the 4th spark plug. I was able to refer back to a previous video I made about this engine and in that video the same 4th cylinder spark plug had the same sort of fouling. This led me to investigate further and I found the 4th fuel injector to also be different from the rest.
In this video you'll see me disassemble the intake manifold, alternator and some brackets to get to the fuel rail. I'll then show up close what these original injectors look like. I also show how I was able to change the fuel injector with a brand new one and the result after starting and driving the vehicle.
