In this video we get to hear what a failing rear axle bearing sounds like in a GMT800 2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 4x4.

I put the vehicle safely on jack stands and ran the vehicle in 4hi so all four wheels would spin. With the wheels spinning I could pinpoint exactly where the sound was coming from. It turned out to be the rear passenger side axle bearing.
