Here's What Happens When You FLUSH A TRANSMISSION With OVER 245,000 MILES!! Transmission Flush On A Toyota 4Runner With OVER 245,000 MILES!!

In this video I perform a passive transmission flush on my 2005 Toyota 4Runner (4th Gen 4Runner) Limited with the 4.7L V8. This vehicle is a bit different than others due to having, from the factory, two transmission fluid coolers. The one, that most others have, is located on the side of the radiator. The second cooler is an external type located just in front of the air conditioning condenser.
Because of this extra external cooler it was a bit difficult trying to figure out which line, coming out of the transmission, was the supply. Through a bit of trial and error I was able to confirm the bottom hard line coming out of the transmission was indeed the supply. With this knowledge I was able to trace the lines to the last possible point in the transmission cooling system just before it returned back to the transmission.
It was at this point, the hard line coming out of the top of the external cooler, that I chose to disconnect the factory return line and connect my clear vinyl line to drain into my bucket. This location worked perfectly. I was able to flush the old transmission fluid in 2 quart increments with no issues. After each 2 quart pump out, I would then shut the engine down and refill with 2 quarts of new fluid. This method I consider 'passive' because it is simply using the transmission's own pump to pump out its own fluid.
