A lot of beginners think they need all the paint colors… but fewer colors chosen strategically will help you grow faster and get better results.
My go-to way to build a palette? The split primary method 👇
Warm + cool versions of red, yellow, and blue.
That’s it. Simple, strategic, and incredibly powerful.
From those 6 colors, you can mix pretty much anything you need. Then, if you want, you can add a few convenience colors like browns, a gray, or a favorite green to make painting easier 🖌️
