❌ Struggling with the “ugly phase” as you draw or paint?
Here’s why you should lean into it!

That messy middle is exactly where the growth happens, and it's a necessary part of the process for most artworks, and of your growth as an artist at a macro level. 👩‍🎨✨

When you’re knee-deep in a painting or sketch, and things start to look chaotic or off… DON'T PANIC or give up.

Instead:
🧠 Ask yourself questions
🖊️ Take notes on what you’re trying and learning
🛠️ Pay attention to the tools and choices you’re making

Because the way you move through the process (the decisions, the adjustments, the tools you prefer) is what sets your art apart from others.

These are also key moments where you get to know yourself as an artist. It’s how your voice gets clearer. It’s how your art improves over time. 🎨

Next time you sit down to create, try this:
👉 Focus on the experience/process of creation.
👉 Let go of the pressure to arrive at perfect results.
👉 Accept that things will often look messy before they look good.

Do you often give up way too soon? Let me know in the comments below.👇💛
