Hercules "The Action Game" is based on the Disney movie "Hercules", just as the movie is based on the legend...sounds like a recipe for disaster, but to be fair this is a good game - damn good ! It seems Virgin Entertainment managed to make some good Disney games, as they were also behind The Jungle Book and The Lion King, so this one turned out just as good. It follows the movie pretty well: the levels, the enemies and themes are all based on the movie and it even uses some voices clips taken right from it, most famously Danny DeVito as Philoctetes - the satyr who follows Herc in the training levels and nags you for making mistakes or wasting time. They even included cutscenes from the film and they look really good for the time, though I wish they would've included more of the 5 muses, particularly the "Zero to Hero" song, which was like the highlight of the whole movie. As Hercules, your job is simple: get to the end of each level while fighting enemies. Standing in your way are all sorts of enemies, traps and even bosses you'll have to fight, like the Centaur, the Cyclops and of course Hades himself at the end. The majority of the levels are standard side-scrolling levels, but there are also third-person auto-scrolling levels, where you can't stop or turn around and you have to constantly steer Herc around the obstacles and enemies that come towards you. You have a lot of attacks: Herc can punch, uppercut, and use a variety of swords which you collect along the way. Controlling Herc is OK, although I do feel like there's a slight delay when trying to steer yourself in mid air after jumping or leaping off a ledge. Other than that, no problems: it's really easy to move Herc around and beat the sh!t out of everything you come across. The animation on the characters is well done and the levels are very well detailed, my favorite in particular being the Thebes level. Each level has hidden letters which spell the word "HERCULES". They act as the continue feature, so if you find them all and somehow lose all your lives, you get to try again from the last level you reached, rather than having to start from level. They're usually hidden inside holes in the ground which you access by jumping in place and hitting "down" in mid air. After 3 stomps the ground caves in, revealing a hidden area with goodies. Speaking of which, other items include the "Herculade" drink which replenishes your health, the Hercules action figure which extends your life bar, 3 types of swords (lightning, fire and tornado), an invincibility helmet which makes you immune to damage from enemies and finally urns which represent pieces of the password for the next level - there are 4 of these in each level. Find them all and you'll get the password for that level. On the PSx you also have the option to save your game after each level, whereas on the PC you have to rely solely on the password system. I would've liked the game to follow the movie a bit closer as far as the bosses are concerned: in the movie, Hercules kills the Hydra by punching the side of a mountain, causing rocks to collapse onto the monster. You don't get to do this in the game - you just keep slicing off the Hydra's heads until its energy is drained and a boulder drops onto it automatically. Then there's the Cyclops, another pretty disappointing level: you just get to the end of an auto-scrolling level and you get to watch the scene from the movie where Herc defeats the Cyclops by throwing a flaming stick into his eye. That was some proper violence for a Disney movie - wouldn't it awesome if you got to do that in the game yourself ? The best of all the bosses is probably the centaur: you drain his life by jumping on his back and riding him and also uppercutting him right in the face when you win, like Herc did in the movie - so satisfying ! Also, although this is REALLY nitpicking now, how about being able to play as other characters, not just Hercules ? I know there's not much they could have done for Meg or Phil in the game, but seeing how they took some creative liberties by having Herc fight the Medusa, they could've probably come up with something (in greek mythology, Perseus is the one who fights Medusa, not Herc). A bit of trivia here, this game came out in 1997; 2 years later, in 1999, another Disney game hit the scene: Tarzan The Action Game. It's very similar in terms of gameplay to Hercules and it actually has other playable characters from the film, so we could cut Hercules some slack as far as the characters are concerned, since it came before Tarzan, thus allowing the producers to know what flaws should be ironed over in the future. Other than that, the game is awesome: great graphics, great soundtracks, nice sound effects, smooth controls and most importantly Danny DeVito ! Try it out !

Welcome to Dannys Fail Vault ! Heres the first secret in The Minus Worlds : The Beyond World...or The World from Beyond...Im still not too sure what the official name is :)) Anyway, this world is an ungodly amount of hard ! While the main game was enjoyable and offered a fair challenge for everybody, this one will just mop the floor with your ass, mainly because of how long and difficult the levels are. Adding to that problem is the fact that theres only ONE checkpoint per level, which is not near enough, and even if there were more, the continue feature doesnt start you off at the checkpoint when you run out of lives (which youll do often), so you still have to do the whole level from the beginning. If youre gonna make the levels long and difficult, at least have plenty of checkpoints to compensate (or at least make the continue option put you back at the last one). Still, despite the brutal nature of this world, with lots of practice, patience and nerves of steel, youll eventually complete it, which is what I managed to do, although I cant deny that I felt more relief than accomplishment when beating it, since I couldnt wait to get it over with after what I had to sit through :O There were also some parts that just pissed the shit out of me, like dying right before the end or the checkpoint, falling through blocks, missing jumps because the keyboard didnt respond, or getting hurt by hazards I couldnt see coming. Either way, just the fact that I was able to complete it with no side effects or glitches, is enough to earn it the DGV seal of approval. Not a bad world as far as functionality and structure is concerned, but OMFG is it hard ! Id compare it to Hardcore World 2 or World 9 by Syzxchulun - definitely not for beginners ! I highly recommend playing the main game first to get your feet wet before diving into this one, because if you do it the other way around without any practice, youll have a pretty unenjoyable experience - youll need a lot of practice and also time going into this, so start off with something easier if youre new to Mario Forever fan games ! I wanted to do another longplay (1 hour +) since we havent had one of those on DGV lately, so I left most of my fails intact, although by the end of the vid I started removing some of them, otherwise it wouldve been painfully boring. Grab some popcorn and prepare to see some butt-kicking with Danny ! I suggest you set the play speed to 1.5 or 2 if you feel like its too slow ! Danny out. I felt like playing some SMBX on DGV again, since you guys seem to like it almost as much as Mario Forever. I wasnt sure what title I should play exactly, since there are a lot (and I mean a LOT) of different worlds (or episodes) created by the fanbase out there ! If youre curious, theres actually a forum where people share SMBX episodes, which is where I got this one. Pretty cool ! I knew I wanted something pretty simple and easy to play, since I havent played SMBX in a long time and wasnt quite ready for anything too involved. After a bit of back and forth, I settled on The Princess Cliché. Its nothing special really, as the title itself suggests. Its also not a very long world, so it was the perfect appetizer that put me in the mood for some more SMBX action. If you guys have suggestions of episodes youd like me to play, let me know in the comments and Ill try to show them here on DGV ! Danny Rulez ! Super Mario Bros. I thought you guys might like this one so I will share it with you: user NortShip01 made a mix of the soundtracks from the original Jazz Jackrabbit on the DOS and he asked for my opinion, since he knows Im a fan of the series myself. I thought its pretty amazing, so I asked him if hed like me to feature it on my channel and he agreed, so here it is. I believe he included most, if not ALL of the tracks from the game, perfectly mixed into one another and not just added sequentially. I can only praise the effort and quality - keep it up ! If you have a track or a mix that youd like me to feature, you can contact me and we can set up a video ! The track list is below, though I havent added any timecodes yet - feel free to do that in the comments.

Heres a new Mario Forever game, called Mario Forever 2014, created by 2233 - the same guy who made Human Lab 2. When I first heard the title, I thought it would be nothing more than a compilation of all the other fan games that have been made so far (being that were approaching the end of the year), but its a totally new game with new worlds. What can I say ? Its a very nicely done game and I really enjoyed it: the challenge is there without being overly annoying, the controls are smooth, the soundtracks are awesome and overall they pretty much nailed every key aspect of a good game, but there are some minor things that require a bit of work still. The most important of these has to be the key mapping, because it currently doesnt work: no matter which keys you define in the options menu, the game always uses the default ones, CTRL for running and SHIFT for jumping. It doesnt help that theyre above each other, because I have to use my pinky to hold down CTRL while using my ring finger to press SHIFT, which is totally uncomfortable and painful after playing for a long time. They should at least be X and Z by default like in other games (which is also what I always set them to) regardless of what game I play. Another thing I need to mention, though this is more of a mystery than it is a problem, is that the game came to a sudden end after beating World 3: I took down Bowser, the victory theme played and then I popped back at the save-screen, which left me wondering what the hell just happened. Is this the whole game and I completed it, or is it a glitch ? If its the former, then it could be longer and have an end-screen with a generic congratulations message. If its the latter, then it should be fixed, needless to say. Some 1-UPs could be added along the way as well, especially from World 2 onward, because it gets quite challenging and having to go back to the beginning of the world every time you use up all your lives brings the fun factor level down pretty considerably. Other than that, theres really not much to say. Very good game overall ! Good job ! Approved by DGV. Mario Forever 2014 PC Walkthrough [HD]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/H_lsubLpN24/mqdefault.jpg)

UPDATED VERSION HERE : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7GV_fjNe-Q
Heres another world bundled with The Minus Worlds, called World Zero. Despite this world claiming to be a demo (as stated on the sign next to the entrance pipe on the start-up screen), it actually feels and plays just like a fully fledged game, so Im expecting the DEMO part to mean that its going to be included in the main game or made into its own standalone game. I got the game pretty long ago, so Im aware that Crist1919 may have released a newer version in the meantime with more levels and some bug fixes. Speaking of which, theres a problem that needs fixing and that is the game skips level 2 and jumps straight to level 3. I wouldnt have noticed if the map screen hadnt shown me passing through an area that didnt look anything like the level I had just completed - it had indeed jumped from level 1 straight to 3 ! Level 2 looks like an underwater maze, judging by the map screen, and its pretty disappointing not being able to play it. Skipping an entire level would be very welcome in a bad game where all you want to do is be done with it as fast as possible, but in this case its a shame really, because the game plays well and there is no cheap stuff, so you dont feel the need to pay the game back by cheating. Other than that, theres not much to say - it maintains the same good stuff from the main game except with different levels, so it gets the seal of approval despite the level skipping glitch. Im sure theres a new version available, or at least in progress. Danny rulez ! Mario Forever - The Minus Worlds: World Zero by Crist1919 [HD]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Ixg2lqW0ELU/mqdefault.jpg)

After a very long streak of Mario Forever games, I thought Id play something else for a change and give Jazz Jackrabbit 2 another go. I did make a series of it before, but it remained one of my lesser-known ones, so I eventually ended up removing it entirely since it wasnt getting enough views and was just cluttering up the channel. I did it in my early days, even before my channel was known as DGV, so it was no longer up to standards: the videos were low quality and spread out over many short vids, one for each level in fact ! Now that my channel has grown a bit, Ill try reviving it just to see how well it appeals to the public and also to change the pace a bit, as were probably getting a little bored with Mario by now and some variety is in order. I might even go back and do the original DOS game again as well, since that one is split up into a ridiculous number of individual vids and they all kinda suck, so this is also a perfect opportunity to clean up and reorganize The Game Vault a bit. Let me know what you guys think and whether you want to see more. Danny out. Jazz Jackrabbit 2 PC Walkthrough (Ep. 1 - Formerly A Prince) [HD]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JGNb-5dpgRQ/mqdefault.jpg)

NOTE : Theres no download link for this world Im afraid. It was given to me by some fans a while back, but the links been taken down after a while, so I dont know if its still available somewhere...
Alright boys and girls, its been a while since my last video so it was about time I took another video request: you guys wanted to see the latest world by Syzxchulun, World 10, just recently released, so were going to check it out. What can I say about it after completing it ? Well, its slightly easier than World 9, Ill tell you that, but its no walk in the park either. This time youre not faced with tough jumps and narrow platforms, but with a lot of enemies like flying fish and turtles, plus the levels seem a bit longer too. One problem that still persists from the previous game is the lack of checkpoints or continues, meaning whenever you lose all your lives, you always go back to the first level. Its especially tedious when it happens in later levels, because youll want another shot right away, but instead you have to do the first stages again, which brings the fun factor level down considerably. If theres one thing I expected to be added after the feedback from the previous game, is a checkpoint at the beginning of each level, so if you lost all your lives, you at least didnt have to do the previous levels again, unless you quit the game. The last castle in particular is a nightmare: it looks easy at first, but soon after starting, the screen goes completely dark, making it nearly impossible to see whats going on. As if that wasnt bad enough, its further exacerbated by the multitude of narrow platforms youll have to jump on and bricks falling from the ceiling that you have to dodge, so the only way to make it through is to keep playing until you remember exactly where each platform is and where the stones drop ! To allow you to see whats going on in the video, I increased the brightness of the dark areas, which might make it look easy, but when youre dealing with all that bullshit in total darkness, its not, believe me ! Once you get to Bowser, youll discover that unlike the rest of the level hes actually pretty easy to beat, since he moves and fires very slowly, I guess to ease your pain a bit. Overall, this is a decent follow-up to the insanely difficult World 9, but the absence of continues or checkpoints makes it less enjoyable than it should be. Still, if youre in the mood for a good challenge, give it a try ! Danny rulez ! Mario Forever - World 10 by Syzxchulun Walkthrough [HD]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Ku2FGBhD0cI/mqdefault.jpg)
