With this piano tutorial and sheet music, you can play "Watermelon Man" by Herbie Hancock on piano!
It's a piano solo arrangement of the famous jazz standard which combines the main melody with the groovy piano pattern - it comes with a few challenges, but it sounds amazing!
Herbie Hancock wrote "Watermelon Man" for his 1962 debut album "Takin' Off".
Inspired by the cry of a man selling watermelon in the back streets of Chicago during Hancock's childhood, the song became one of his most famous tunes, and a popular jazz standard which has been recorded hundreds of times.
I highly recommend watching this video, where Herbie Hancock himself tells the story of how he came up with the song: youtube.com/watch?v=RzPZvKSdN7g
