HER SELVES
By P B Taylor
I
She the girl of my thoughts, dreams
First, she didn’t see my love for her
Time wore time for my plots and schemes
At the last a captured love for her
II
Free, yes, free, I just want to be free
Can’t you see just you and me together
Yet all she did was sit and cry
She wrapped in herself as clouds in the sky
III
Those somber orange ghostly green lights
Flashed past my window throughout the nights
Those lights from that funny ghost that always cries
She lonely- without her I would fold and die
IV
Free, yes, free, I just want to be free
Can’t you see just you and me together
Yet all she did was sit and cry
She wrapped in herself as clouds in the sky
V
That hot autumn day was golden and red
As healthy cornlands and vineyards in season
Then told that she was lost dead
Gone forever as my thought and reason so I wept
VI
Free, yes, free, I just want to be free
Can’t you see just you and me together
Yet all she did was sit and cry
She wrapped in herself as clouds in the sky
