Simulation of ram-up of a heat exchanger. The goal was to determine the thermal transient behavoir of the shell side (left) as well as the flow distribution over the tubes (right).
The simulation included the convective heat transfer boundary conditions and is taking into account the thickness of the walls and the temperature outside the wall.
