Helvellyn. The one mountain I was most looking forward to climbing on my week in the Lake District. To me, the only option was to head up via. Striding Edge.

My route was inspired by two others that I discovered on OS Maps. One shorter, that heads up Striding Edge and back down Swirral Edge. While the other completes a longer horseshoe, ignoring both edges... I feel I picked the best of both, for what would become a very challenging day!
