As you all know by now, Oceanside renewed the contract and in that new contract was plans to roll out carts and go automated. Due to the trucks they were buying having not arrived on time, they had to pull in a bunch of old trucks form other yards for green waste and recycling, as well as continue using some of their PODs for garbage. So that gave us a chance to see this, which is a Heil POD collecting garbage from the newly rolled out carts! Now believe it or not, this footage is very near 2 years old already, so the automated trucks have certainly taken over by now.
If I remember correctly, it was closing in on 5pm when I filmed this, so it was a long day for everyone, particularly those collecting garbage. Last I saw of the yard here in Oceanside, they had a fleet of nothing but Amreps. Some Volvos, some WhiteGMCs, and a pair of Pete 310s, though I am unsure if they have the Labries back yet or if the others have even showed up at all. Thanks to the driver as always!
