The Transport Ministry has sought to reassure taxi drivers that Spanish taxis and private hire vehicles are not allowed to cross into Gibraltar under any circumstances.
It follows news that the first fixed penalty notice has been issued to a Spanish taxi driver since the new treaty arrangements came into effect.
Stewart Harrison says new measures will be enforced at the border going forward. He told Kelly Anne Borge that the safety of Gibraltarian passengers was the Ministry’s main concern, while acknowledging the service locally could be improved.
